One of my favourite views in the area.
We’ve been in this area and explored it so many times now that we’ve already seen it in all it’s glory.
Up close, from far away, in the rain, the morning sun, at the end of the day, foggy and moody, … it doesn’t matter… the look of this mountain pass always makes me feel happy and right where I belong ✨ •

There’s something about those very early morning hikes, going up a mountain, and seeing the sun already peeking through the trees, hoping you will get to the mountain top in time.

Something about reaching that top, beyond where the trees grow, and seeing nature’s spectacle.
You made it.

Something about those sometimes heavy and cold winds, and than feeling the warmth of the morning sun when it reaches you.
Something about looking around and seeing the world painted in the most beautiful warm colors, the rain and/or fog in the distance giving her a softness.

And there’s especially something about getting back to our van, putting a pot of coffee on the stove, having breakfast and warming ourselves up afterwards, still enjoying what we witnessed that morning 😊

• If you’d ask me what my favourite moment of

• If you’d ask me what my favourite moment of our most recent trip to Sweden was, I’d say it was this exact moment.
We had already been hiking for a few hours when we stopped to take a break and have some breakfast when all of a sudden we spotted this majestic creature also having his breakfast.

We decided to give each other company.
We sat there watching each other in silence, eating our breakfast, while enjoying each other’s company.
Being fully relaxed.

I separated myself from my Husband and our dogs, going a bit closer to Mr. Reindeer, but still far enough so he felt comfortable, taking one of my little mindful moments for myself.
And him.
Still being fully relaxed.

So relaxed even, Mr. Reindeer decided to take a nap (slide) while we were watching at (over?) him.
A sight, and feeling, I’ll never forget.

It goes to show that if you respect their boundaries, they will be so at ease they will even feel comfortable enough to take a nap while you’re there ✨ •

When they say that the Faroe Islands are the sheep islands, not one bit is lied.
Everywhere you look you see sheep. And, lucky for us, their babies 😍
I had a blast, I was making new sheep friends during every hike 🤗

There’s something really special about seeing sheep grazing on cliffs or on meadows with the ocean in the background.
A scenery that’s probably pretty normal for the Faroese people, but for us quite special… ✨

• We didn’t prepare our trip to the Faroe Isla

• We didn’t prepare our trip to the Faroe Islands until we were on the plane flying there, so we for sure didn’t know it was best to book our ferry ticket to Kalsoy a bit beforehand.
It was only the night before we wanted to go to Kalsoy that we booked our ferry ticket… the website telling us the only available spots were on the 7am ferry.
But if you know us, early mornings are not that big of a deal.

It felt as if we had the whole island to ourselves as we hiked towards the lighthouse and nature treated us on a wonderful lightshow during our way up.
Moments we would’ve missed if we took a later ferry….
Making the getting up at 4.30 all worth while ✨ •
